I don't remember how long time it took to beat Portal 2. I have around 350 hours playtime at the moment, I think. #1. henry ford Dec 26, 2015 @ 3:07pm. 12 hours the first playthrough I think, but I have played the game many times and obviosly it took less time than the first time! #2. (Image credit: Valve) To briefly explain how this works, there are two versions of every test chamber in Portal Reloaded, one in the present, and one twenty years in the future.
The 2 games have very different styles. Portal 1 is lonely and isolated to the point where you form a strong attachment to a simple thing like a cube with a heart on it. Portal 2 is a lot more upbeat, everything feels alive from the cores to the walls and floor. The designs of each game match their styles very well even if it means the
Implying it takes place around half life 2 or before. 3. •. It takes place 50,000 years after portal 1, portal 1 takes place between half life 1 and 2. 3. [deleted] •. Between 50 and 50000 years after portal 1 (2010) apparently. Personally, I find it kinda hard to believe that it could be anywhere near 50000.

There's no official timeline, it is somewhere between 50-50,000 years. The idea of the repeating "9" is that Chell slept through the maximum time the system could record, kinda like what was supposed to happen with y2k. It was less then 40 years but more then 20. It was more than 40 though, it's between 50 and 50,000.

I prefer Portal 1. Portal 2 was a bit of a slog, Portal 1 was more compact and I preferred the humour. If Portal 2 had more Cave Johnson and less Wheatley I would have enjoyed it more. #1. BlockSquad1000 Aug 29, 2013 @ 6:58pm. i prefer #1 as well, but portal 2 was also more adventurous. i have to go with 1 for its classic game appearance.
Read the Portal 2: Lab Rat comic. It's free online and is a quick 3 minute read, and it answers a lot of questions. While the exact dates are not exact, we do know that Portal is after Half Life 1 because GLaDOS references some crazy stuff going on on the surface. 3. AhriBigPlays.
Portal 1 has less plot and dialogues - but is more action-packed, clear and timid. Portal 2 has way bigger story and lore - but feels too-much and too-packed. one way or another, but both games are awesome, you can't go wrong with any of two. #1. SpielSatzFail Jun 27, 2021 @ 9:34pm. In Portal 2 the chamber is seen underground by a bit (not far, but still), so the most sensible explanations are. 1: the parking lot was built atop some rooms below, over time it collapsed. 2: the rooms and walkway from Portal 1 are seen right next to GLaDOS' corpse, so she was likely pulled back "home" by something, likely maintenance drones YlO01Z0.
